Brendan heads up to Whitehorse, Yukon for an epic experience targeting monster lake trout. With summer solstice fast approaching, the anglers take advantage of the sun never setting and go fishing from 6am to 1am on different lakes. One of Brendan’s biggest adventures yet!

Electric Black Cod

Black cod is an emerging fishery off the coast of Tofino and Brendan heads out with his good friend Billy to test their luck. Billy is nursing a shoulder injury so the boys decide to test out electric reels and fish for black cod at over 500 ft deep. Fly fishing is one of our favorite ways to catch fish. We head up to Hatheume lake and are joined by the team from TW outdoors to target rainbow trout on the fly. Brendan heads to Eagle Nook Resort located in Barkley Sound, BC. He participates in the salmon DNA sampling and recovery program while experiencing some incredible salmon fishing. The lodge and all of its comforts only add to the epic experience and beauty Barkley Sound offers.

Chile Chinook Chase

Chile is home to monster chinook salmon that were implanted there with Robertson creek salmon in the 70’s. Like a time capsule these fish have maintained their monstrous size and aggressiveness and Chile is quickly becoming a world class salmon fishing destination. Brendan is joined by Rob Alcock of Gibbs fishing as they stay and visit with local hosts and target salmon while getting an authentic cultural experience.

Chile Fishing Safari

Continuing their epic journey in Chile, Brendan and Rob move to a new location to target tuna and salmon off the coast of Chile. Fishing beside penguins and sight casting to tuna while only 100 meters from shore is a new experience for both of these veteran anglers.

Bamfield Salmon Science

Following up on last year, Brendan heads to the UBC Marine Research center in Bamfield, BC. He participates in a new study looking to discover the effects of sport fishing on caught and released salmon. Brendan goes through all of the details and process of the study which measures oxygen levels of salmon during angling events and compares it to their resting oxygen intake. This unique study could help with establishing best practices for releasing fish in the future.

Cabo San Marlin

Tag Cabo Sport Fishing hosts Brendan and Steve Rae from Simrad on an epic marlin fishing expedition. The team highlights why Cabo is the sport capital of the world and gets into a marlin frenzy. Brendan sets a new personal best record with an unforgettable fight that nearly wears him out.
